We really enjoyed our post-Christmas lunch at Age & Sons. Upstairs in the restaurant, the food was delicious, the service attentive and the original art attractive. Above all, THERE WAS NO MUSIC in this tastefully converted Victorian warehouse, formerly used by local wine merchants Page & Sons (the “P” tile fell off, it seems).
We love live music (there’s a basement bar – not yet sampled – below the ground-floor café), but we hate having someone else’s choice of piped music imposed upon us – especially when, as in this case, we were dining with a friend we hadn’t seen for some years and simply wanted to chat.
We can warmly recommend this venue in the unlikely setting of Ramsgate old town and will return soon!
